How do copyright laws work for AI music?
In the United States, copyright protects human authorship; purely AI-generated expressive material is not treated the same way.

If a creator wrote the lyrics, composed protectable music, performed vocals, produced original expression, arranged material creatively, or made meaningful human edits, those human contributions may be protectable case by case. AI-generated material may need to be disclosed and limited in a copyright application.
Music can involve separate rights in the musical work and the sound recording. Lyrics/composition, master recording, voice or likeness, provider contract rights, marketplace licenses, and platform policies should be kept separate.
